Draw Bart

Bart: What happened to you, China? You used to be cool..

4 U.S Presidents, 5 animation studios, 17 seasons, and 378 episodes later, China has decided to ban The Simpsons. Before you get all bent out of shape, they haven't decided to completely ban it from showing, just from 5 pm - 8pm.
"The reason for the regulation is clear. It is to protect domestic cartoon production," the Southern Metropolis said. In a study performed by an independent group, they found that 80% of Chinese children liked foreign animation, but disliked domestic cartoons. So it's just an effort to defend their suffering animation studios? China, are you telling me that you are banning one of the most popular cartoons in the history of T.V not for political reasons, but because you just can't produce something decent to appeal to your own children. If a show like Blue's Clues can outperform all of your cartoons, I don't think a mere ban of The Simpsons is going to solve anything, you have MUCH bigger problems.

Welcome!

With the soon to be arrival of the long awaited, "The Simpsons Movie," I decided to start a blog about all things Simpsons. Now, I know the movie isn't due out until mid 2007, but its never too early to get a head start on things, especially when its about America's favorite family. This isn't strictly about the movie, because there is just not enough material to write about, yet. There are thousands of pages out there all pertaining to The Simpsons, but this one is going to be a little different. Come back soon and check it out.
